2000 Royal Ambassador Racer Derby at Southside Baptist Church of Savannah, GA

2000 Royal Ambassador Racer Derby at Southside Baptist Church of Savannah, GA

The derby event is something that the RA's and leaders look forward to every year. Although this event is not directly related to missions education or mission activity, it does help fulfill part of the RA program. Ideally, it gives a boy and his father (or mother)  a chance to work together on a craft project, and to compete with other RA's and parents in the race. It also presents a chance for boys to learn about craftsmanship, tools, patience, good sportsmanship and good Christian fun, and to interact with adult males (RA leaders) during the design, construction, painting and racing of the cars. This event also gives the RA's an excellent "tool" to get their friends interested in and involved with the Royal Ambassador program. Several of our RA's invited friends who came to our church for the first time, in order to work on the race cars.
