2000 Royal Ambassador Racer Derby at Southside Baptist Church of Savannah, GA

The Royal Ambassador Racer Derby is a competitive event of handmade wooden cars. Sometimes known as "Pinewood Derby", the cars are made from a solid block of wood. Each RA draws his own design on the block. RA leaders then cut the cars out and weight them with lead. Each contestant then sands, primes, paints and decorates their car.
49 cars were entered in this year's derby! Cars compete in racing and in best design/craftsmanship. We present 1st, 2nd and 3rd-place ribbons in each category, for each grade or division.
